Miguel Fernández has always known that education doesn’t have to be boring. He trained as a primary school teacher at the University of Cantabria, where he learnt that teaching is not just about giving lessons, but also about awakening curiosity and the desire to learn.

With this idea in mind, he founded Clases Particulares in Ávila, an academy where students discover that learning can be much more than memorisation and repetition. When the classrooms became too small for him, he decided to go online with his YouTube channel, which is also called Clases Particulares en Ávila. There he shares history, science and curiosities with hundreds of thousands of people who, without realising it, are learning and having fun at the same time.

With this book, he is now continuing his mission: to show that knowledge is an adventure and that anyone can enjoy it with the right perspective.

A huge shout out to my amazing publisher, Bookshelter! Working with you guys has been like sailing on a downwind boat with a cracking crew. Thank you for putting up with my epic delays (yes, I know, I'm that student who turns in work on the last day), but I never felt a pout or an ‘enough is enough! You guys are more patient than a maths teacher explaining fractions at 8 a.m.! Truly, it has been a brutal experience, full of learning, laughter and a lot of love for this project.
